GAIL (India) Ltd set up in August 1984 as a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG). It has Navaratna status from India Government. The company was initially given the responsibility of construction, operation & maintenance of the Hazira – Vijaypur – Jagdishpur (HVJ) pipeline Project. It was one of the largest cross-country natural gas pipeline projects in the world. Originally this 1800 Km long pipeline was built at a cost of Rs 1700 Crores and it laid the foundation for development of market for natural Gas in India.


GAIL India is initiating the recruitment process of Executive Trainee (ET). This year GAIL has said that the recruitment will be done through GATE-2013 organized by IITs. The executive Trainee/ Management Trainee (MT) are in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Chemical engineering. GAIL has announced that this year, there will not be any separate written examination or test for the recruitment of Graduate engineers but GAIL will take with the help of ‘Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers (GATE-2013)’. 

GAIL India Ltd and some other PSUs like HPCL, BPCL, NTPC, BHEL, PGCIL and IOCL has already test it for the session 2012-2013 through GATE-2012, this year too, GAIL India is going to fill and appoint the Graduate Engineers Trainee (GET) through GATE-2013 score card and then group discussion and Personal Interview. 

Management Trainees will be placed in the initial pay scale of Rs 24900-50500/-pm as salary. Other incentives and allowances are also applicable as it is a group ‘A’ post. Candidates must be in the maximum age group of 25 years.

Interested candidates are requested to appear for GATE-2013, without which you can’t participate in the recruitment process of HPCL and some other PSUs.
